It’s here….a summer reading spectacular

I know you all have been waiting for the promised guest blog post by Tessa Gratton, aka the crazy lady.  Here it is–her current favorite reads, straight from her (and her brother) to you.  WARNING:  I now have even more books I want to read.  How about you?  Which books are you heading to the library to get?  Top on my list is Incarceron.  Race you there!  Check out what other cool stuff she can do on her blog.

I don’t think I have any of the same interests that she does in books. She’s more of a fictional person, when I would say that I would be more of a non-fiction person. Especially, Percy Jackson and the Olypian… I’ve never felt the need to read that books and the rest of its series.

And the good thing is that there are enough different kinds of books for all different readers. What nonfiction would you recommend? I am just learning to appreciate good nonfiction writing.

You might surprise yourself. My evil plan is for you to find books you want to read–even over the summer!

your like me, i love to read books, but my dad won’t get me any books because he thinks reading books is some times boring. try reading Cracker The Best Dog In Veitnam….. it’s a really good book and it’s about addventure and how the dog saves his groups and his masters life during war.

I can tell you like Cracker. I have to disagree with your dad about reading books being a waste of time. I’ll share with you later in the year how reading can improve your vocabulary, make you smarter, make you richer, make you a better writer, even guard you from oppressioin.

Cover Up is great realistic fiction. What nonfiction books would you recommend? I’m just learning to appreciate it. Several of the Young Hoosier books this year are nonfiction, too.

read books all summer long? Odd, very odd. I would get bored. I think it’s always good to go outside and socialize with friends & family. “Magic, blood, monsters, and kissing” She sounds very into that…odd combination of book categories. But it does sound like she has a nice combination of books to read during the summer/your free time.

I can’t wait to read Tessa’s book. The description on her website sounds good. Just wait until you see her Shakespeare videos!

I have read The Red Pyramid, and I just learned that he’s started a second series with a new generation of campers at Camp Half-Blood. He’s going to keep me supplied in books for a while!

Great, vid. I have to say all of those are on my list–Mistwood just added. Love the addition of brother in the end and comparisons of Harry Potter–just made me want to read them all more. Great to meet you, K and looking forward to more time in TPR!

Yay, good books for the summer! Incarceron tops my list, as does the Forest of Hands and Teeth (and then Dead-Tossed Waves) and the Maze Runner. I really enjoyed Mistwood (and I was excited when I met Leah Cypess) Some great books out right now!!

It was fun hanging out in the Practice Room!
