Enjoy President’s Day off.  Remember to find a little time to read.
Homework: Read. Choose five words for Weekly Word Study.

Tuesday

Read first 15 minutes of class.  Continue taking notes for research on your author.  Remember to write where your information comes from and to create a new entry for your Works Cited page for each website you visit.  You need to find enough information on each category to write a strong paragraph for your research paper.  If you copy the words exactly, put them in quotation marks.  You should paraphrase–or put in your own words–most of the information you find.
Homework: Read.  Complete Weekly Word Study. Notes due Friday.

Wednesday

Thursday

Read first 15 minutes of class. Complete Word Study quizzes. ISTEP practice for writing prompt.  When you have to write on an assigned topic in a limited amount of time, use the RUPR method.  Read the prompt.  Underline key words (Format-Audience-Topic-Purpose).  Plan your ideas with lots of details.  Finally, Review and Revise you plan before starting your draft:  Does it answer all the writing prompt completely?
Homework: Read.  Weekly Word Study due. Notes due Friday.

Friday

Read first 15 minutes of class.  Complete the assigned writing prompt and turn in at the end of class.
Homework: Read. Notes due TODAY!
