Directions for WebQuest on Poetry Slam

You are about to find out everything you didn’t know you wanted to know about Poetry Slams.  I’ve collected several websites that tell all and show all in a way cool website called LiveBinders.  (Remember this site.  It’s free and can be very useful the next time you have to research anything on the internet. )

Follow these steps, so you don’t get lost!

1)  Click on the link to go to the LiveBinders website.  This will open a new window.

2)  In the top right corner you will see a search bar.  Type in “Poetry Slams” and click SEARCH.  If you’re really lazy, you can copy and paste–don’t copy the quotation marks.  Leave “Featured Binders” in the drop down menu.

3) Click on the binder icon beneath “Found Binders.”  Be patient.  It takes a little while to load.

4)  Explore the sites.  Remember to write down the answers in the correct blanks.  HINT:  You can find most of the answers in the Poetry, Slam, Inc.  by clicking on FAQs under the Main Menu.   Then click on #8, Poetry Slam-General FAQ

5)  Find a video clip (within the LiveBinders site or search poetry slam on youtube).  Leave the url (web address) in a comment on this post.

I found out some interesting trivia during lunch Sunday. Friends of mine had their first date at the Uptown Poetry Slam at the Green Mill in Chicago. Yes, I’m jealous!
